Since their debut, And the Mud Ship Sails Away..., through 7 Days, Poolsideman, Party 'Round the Globe and Life Finds A Way, the brothers Hirobumi and Yuji Watanabe have continued to depict the Japanese way of life. Their latest work, set in a rural area in the suburbs, portrays in black and white and without words a man who lives with his aging grandmother and works silently in a pigpen. The peculiar world of Foolish Piggies Films continues to evolve and deepen with vivid, luminous monochrome photography, experimental and provocative sound effects, and music that scratches the emotions.
